Dark Circles Under Eyes Treatment

There are a number of home remedies for dark circles under the eyes. A successful dark circles under eyes treatment can make you look years younger.

Dark circles are not necessarily caused by lack of sleep. The skin just under the eye is the thinnest skin on the body and therefore the blood vessels show through on some people. You inherited your skin from your family so dark circles usually run in families. Lack of sleep may make the condition worse because the skin pales when we are tired.


Try One of These Remedies for Dark Circles

Home Remedies Woman with Clear Skin We have all seen pictures of women with slices of cucumbers over their eyes. It looks strange but even so, cucumber juice can help relieve under eye puffiness and the dark circles that go with it. Even more effective than the cucumber slices is cucumber juice.

Make cucumber juice by peeling a cucumber and running it through a blender. Put the pulp in a fine meshed wire strainer and squeeze the juice into a bowl. Dip two cotton pads in the juice, lie down, and place the pads over your eyes. Be sure the under eye area is covered. Rest for half an hour with the pads in place. Repeat daily.

Some say that potatoe juice works just as well for a dark circle remedy as cucumber. Run it through the blender and use just like the cucumber juice.

Another dark circle remedy is Chamomile Tea. Make some Chamomile Tea with two tea bags. Squeeze as much water out of the tea bags as you can and let them cool. Place the tea bags over your eyes and rest just like with the cucumber. Chamomile Tea is very relaxing so drink the tea first and then use the teabags for your eyes. Other kinds of tea also work. Try this with black or green tea.

Soak your cotton pads with rose water or almond oil before placing on your eyes.

Dabbing Vitamin E oil under the eye throughout the day is effective for some. Just pierce a Vitamin E capsule with a pin and squeeze out the oil. Be careful not to get it into your eye.

Wear sunglasses when you are out in the sun. A sun tan can make the under eye area look even darker.

Get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water throughout the day along with these home remedies for dark circles.
