Make a pot of ginger root tea to drink through the day when you have a cold or the flu. Or drink it any time. It's good for you.
The ingredients you will need are water, fresh ginger root, honey, and lemon juice. The honey and lemon juice are also good for you when you are fighting a cold or the flu. Honey is a natural antibiotic and antiviral. Lemon juice is an antioxidant and contains lots of vitamin C.
To make the ginger tea, bring three cups of water to a boil and reduce the heat so the water is just simmering. Add some grated ginger (about a two-inch piece) and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Take the pan off the stove and add two or three tablespoons of honey and the juice from half a lemon. Strain the tea into a container. Sip a cup of warm ginger tea throughout the day.
Do not give this tea to very young children. Children under the age of two should not eat honey.
